Frequently Asked Questions
How do I post a listing?
Sign in with Google, click Post a car, and fill out the form. You'll need at least 20 photos, a description of 500 characters or more, the asking price, and your general location. Once submitted, the listing goes to moderation before it appears in search.
Why do you require 20 photos and a 500-character description?
Because real cars with real condition documentation make the marketplace trustworthy and reduce tire-kickers. Twenty photos is enough to cover the exterior, interior, engine bay, and any known flaws. A 500-character description forces sellers to actually describe the car — mileage, service history, mods, paint work, anything a buyer would ask in the first message anyway.
It's a higher bar than most classifieds sites. That's the point. If you can't clear it, the listing probably isn't ready.
How does moderation work?
A human reviewer checks every new listing before it goes live. We're looking for:
- Photos that match the described car (no stock images, no stolen listings).
- A description with enough detail to be useful.
- No scams, no off-topic posts, no dealer-volume spam.
We'll approve, reject with a reason, or ask for more info. If something's rejected, fix the issue and resubmit.
How long does approval take?
Usually within 24 hours, often much faster during Miami business hours. If a listing is stuck longer than that, email support@mycarpub.com with the listing URL.
How do I mark my car as sold?
Go to My Listings, open the listing, and click Mark as sold. The listing stays visible for a short grace period (so buyers who messaged you can see the status change), then moves to your archive. You can also fully delete a listing from the same screen.
How do I delete my account?
Sign in, go to /account → Settings → Delete my account, and confirm. This removes your email, listings, and associated account data. See the Privacy Policy for what's retained and why.
Do you charge to post?
Not in v1. If that changes, current listings will be grandfathered and we'll tell you before switching anything on.
I found a listing that looks like a scam. What now?
Every listing has a Report button. Use it, add a short note on what looks off, and a moderator will review. Reports are anonymous to the seller.
